Wintergreen for preppers and it’s many uses!

Wintergreen, one of the few plants in which the entire plant has many uses. Not only a pain reliever it is also edible. But wait there are many more uses. Watch this well done video and see many of the different reasons to learn how to recognize, find, and use this plant. Keep an eye out for the book the author uses in this video.

A “Reality Check” for many Preppers! A must watch.

What would you do if SHTF? Probably one of the most common questions you will find on any Prepper, Survival related web site or forum you may visit. Most, in earnest don’t really know what would happen to them, or what they would do. Many Prepper, Survivalists say “BUG OUT” . It’s easy to talk the walk but can you walk the talk. Unless you are already living the Jeremiah Johnson life style, odds are, you really have not a clue. I know there are exceptions. For those that are not exceptions and those that will have to stay put here is a little food for thought.

What can a Prepper, Survivalist do with a tree?

What can one do with a tree? Ask anyone and you will get several answers but you will find them all pretty much the same, build a house, a bridge, fire wood, or maybe build a boat. They would all be right but the list is much longer than this.

Ask a Prepper or Survivalist, what can you do with a tree? Your first response would probably be which part? What kind of tree? You will find the possibilities are endless.
The bark of a pine tree contains antioxidants with anti-inflammatory uses. It can be used for mulch and did you know that the inner bark is edible? Bark can also be used for water filtration. The sap from a pine tree can be used to make turpentine, glues, accelerant for a fire, candles, medicinal, or even gum that can help clean your teeth or used as a temporary filling for a tooth.

The male pine cone flower is a great source for protein, the pollen from the male pine cone flower can be used to thicken stews or as a flower substitute. Pine nuts are edible and can be used in many recipes. The Pine cone itself can be used as a fishing bobber.
I can go on and on and I have not even gotten to the wood yet.

Following is a video on how to make a bark container from Joshua Hamlin of “WildPrimitiveSkills” on YouTube. Prepper /Survival library pages will soon be created on this site highlighting the best authors on how to videos such as the one below. Special videos will also be promoted right here on the front page every few days so check back often for information on how to be a little more self- reliant and independent.
Enjoy!!!
